Mitochondrial and metabolic research compounds

This category groups research compounds studied for their role in mitochondrial function, cellular energy and metabolism. They are a mixed set chemically, from short peptides to a coenzyme, linked by the biology they are used to investigate rather than by structure.

About mitochondrial and metabolic

SS-31, also called elamipretide, is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide that binds cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane; the page notes its 2025 US approval for Barth syndrome and why that status does not carry over to research-grade material. MOTS-c is a 16-residue peptide encoded in the mitochondrial genome and studied in metabolic models. AOD9604 is a fragment of human growth hormone (residues 177 to 191) studied in rodent metabolic models and a joint model. NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is the coenzyme at the centre of cellular redox chemistry and a substrate for sirtuins and PARP enzymes. Glutathione is the cell's main thiol tripeptide antioxidant.

Each product page gives every size with its price and stock, the identity data with the PubChem record, supplier storage figures and the studies behind the compound, each linked to PubMed or its DOI. Every product here is sold for laboratory research only, not for human or veterinary use.
