What research says about Selank
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide described as a stabilised analogue of the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), extended with Pro-Gly-Pro. It has been studied in rodent models and in small clinical studies reported in the Russian literature.
Reported to inhibit enkephalin-degrading enzymes in human plasma in vitro (Zozulya 2001) and to alter expression of genes involved in GABAergic neurotransmission in rat frontal cortex (Volkova 2016).
Investigational outside Russia; the cited clinical studies are small Russian reports, and no FDA or EMA marketing authorisation was identified (Russian registration status was not verified from an official register).
