What research says about Epithalon
Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) designed from a peptide fraction of the pineal gland, associated with the Khavinson group in St Petersburg. It is classed as a research peptide and has been studied in cell culture and animal ageing models.
In human fibroblast cultures Epithalon was reported to induce telomerase catalytic subunit expression and telomere elongation, and in stem-cell work it has been reported to alter neurogenic gene expression, with histone binding proposed as a possible epigenetic mechanism.
Investigational research peptide; most published studies come from one research institute and no approved use was found.
